This old Gaddi trail goes through Minkiani or Baleni Pass (4250m) and into the Chamba valley through Drakund, a small but important fruit-growing area. This route is always exciting as it is a combination of unpredictable weather, snow, rock and forests that are always challenging to trekkers. The exquisiteness of the view over the pass and the waterfall at Drakund is unmatched.

The top of the pass is unique as there is Kareri Lake to the South and Nag Dal (lake) to the North. These two lakes are holy and pilgrims brave the elements to visit these lakes once a year. The Nag Dal location has seven minor lakes around it as well. This is a rare opportunity to see natural wonders that have remained hidden until very recently.
